Well it’s about time. YouTube owners said that they will begin sharing revenue with owners and uploaders of videos. Sounds like they’re listening to what the competition is doing.
Revver has been doing this since it was unveiled to the public. One site shows that yes, it’s possible to make some decent money with Revver videos–but don’t quit your job over it. The most one person earned was almost $1,350 in one month, but that’s not the norm.
YouTube is already trying to look like MySpace, with its customized home pages and the ability to add friends and network. After all, why not build a social networking site at YouTube, which already has lots of traffic and users?

Correction- Revver has far surpassed that amount with a few… the EepyBird.com fellas made more than $35K in a few weeks. But Revver doesn’t touch the traffic that YouTube gets. So if YouTube shares it’s a big deal. I doubt it will share as generously as Revver, Metacafe and blip.tv, but the quantity of views you get is dramatically better. Methinks this is a reaction to livevideo poaching some viewers and creators.
